Hi, Put ribbon in place across the battery compartment for easy battery removal. Then insert the first AA battery over the ribbon according to the engraved diagram, inside with the positive leas (-) facing the on/off button. Ensure it goes all the way in. Then insert the second AA battery in the opposite direction with the positive lead (+) facing the whisk.
