INSTRUCTIONS
-
Cut the bacon and the venison into chunks. These should be small enough to comfortably fit them into your meat grinder. If you don’t have a meat grinder, you can find a great one here: https://cookspot.org/best-meat-grinder-for-deer/.
-
Using a meat grinder, mix the bacon and venison. You should aim to have two-thirds of the mixture roughly ground, while the remaining third should be finely ground.
-
Start preheating the grill, you should aim to be using high heat.
-
Mold the mixture into burger patties. Try to avoid making them too firm, as this can make them tougher later.
-
Prepare the grill, scraping off any excess food.
-
Before adding the burgers, add a thin layer of salt. This will help the meat break down and enhance the flavor.
-
Place them onto an open grill and cook for around 3 to 5 minutes, without flipping.
-
Then, flip and cook the other side for around 3 to 5 minutes. We recommend using the Zulay Kitchen Tong Set for grill not to scratch the grill’s surface. After turning the burgers, sprinkle a little black pepper onto it.
-
Repeat until all the patties are cooked.
-
Once cooked, remove from the heat and leave to rest for a few minutes
-
Cut open the bun and start preparing the burger. You can add whatever toppings you like. The most common ones are tomato, lettuce, cheese, and some kind of sauce.
-
Serve the burgers.
