Earlier this month our collaborator Liz posted a matcha donut recipe using our Organic Matcha Powder. She's back with this Matcha Donut recipe, but this time she's added crushed Oreos and glaze on top! We thought the first donut recipe was good, but these look amazing! Tell us which recipe you want to try first!
This recipe was shared with us by our friend on Instagram @diningwithliz!
INGREDIENTS
For Donuts
- 1 ½ cups flour
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 1 ½ tbsp Zulay Kitchen matcha green tea powder
- ¾ tsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp kosher salt
- 1 large egg
- 1/3 cup sour cream
- ¾ cup whole milk
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
For Glaze
- 1 large egg white
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 2 tsp Zulay Kitchen matcha green tea powder
- ¼ tsp salt
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp water
INSTRUCTIONS
- Heat oven to 350°F and grease donut pan.
- Combine dry ingredients in a large bowl.
- In a small bowl, whisk together egg, sour cream, milk and vanilla.
- Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and whisk until just combined.
- Stir in melted butter.
- Transfer mix into a piping bag and pipe into molds, filling ¾ of the way up.
- Bake on the center rack of the oven for 11 minutes, or until a tooth pick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool in the pan, turn out onto a wire rack, and allow to cool completely.
- Repeat with remaining batter.
- For the glaze, whisk together all ingredients except the water. Whisk in 1 tablespoon of water and continue to add 1 teaspoon of water until you reach the desired consistency.
- When the doughnuts are completely cool, dip the top half into the glaze and return them to the rack until the glaze sets. Add toppings as you like; I added Oreo!
- Enjoy!
