How to Make Chamomile Mint Latte

Prep Time: 5 minutes | Cook Time: 5 minutes | Total Time: 10 minutes

Servings: 1 cup

Ingredients to use for making Chamomile Mint Latte.

Ingredients

    • 1 tsp loose-leaf chamomile mint tea (or 1 tea bag)
    • ½ cup oat milk (or any milk of your choice)
    • 2 tbsp honey (adjust to taste)
    • ½ cup boiling water

Optional: dried chamomile flowers or fresh mint for garnish

Instructions

Step 1: Steep the Tea

Bring ½ cup of water to a boil using an electric water kettle. In a measuring pitcher or mug, add 1 tsp of chamomile mint tea. Pour the hot water over it and let it steep for 4 minutes. If using a tea bag, just drop it in and let it do its thing.

Step 2: Heat the Milk

While the tea steeps pour ½ cup of oat milk into your glass measuring pitcher. Heat it in the microwave for 60 seconds or until warm but not boiling.

Step 3: Froth the Milk

Grab your Zulay milk frother. Tilt your mug or pitcher slightly, insert the frother, and turn it on. Move it up and down for 15 to 30 seconds until the milk becomes light and foamy.

Step 4: Sweeten the Tea

Once your tea is done steeping, remove the tea bag or get a kitchen strainer to strain out the leaves. Stir in 2 tablespoons of honey (or more if you like it sweeter).

Step 5: Combine and Enjoy

Pour the frothed oat milk over the tea and gently stir. Add a sprinkle of chamomile or mint on top for a calming aesthetic. Sip and relax!

Tips & Twists To Try for Chamomile Mint Latte

  • Add ¼ tsp of vanilla extract to the milk before frothing for a soothing, cozy twist.

  • Want a tropical flair? Try using vanilla-flavored coconut milk instead of oat milk.

Frequently Asked Questions About This Recipe

Can I use a different milk instead of oat milk?

Absolutely. Oat milk adds a nice creaminess without overpowering the herbal notes, but feel free to substitute with almond, coconut, or even dairy milk if you prefer.

What if I don’t have chamomile mint tea?

No problem, you can steep chamomile and mint separately or even use a single-ingredient version if that’s what you have on hand. Mint and chamomile are both available in loose-leaf and tea-bag varieties. If you only have one, add dried or fresh mint leaves to your chamomile tea while it steeps for a similar effect.

Is this latte safe to drink before bed?

Yes, chamomile is often recommended as a natural sleep aid. Mint can be energizing for some people, but in small amounts, it generally has a relaxing effect.

Can I sweeten it with something other than honey?

Definitely. Maple syrup, agave nectar, or even stevia are great options depending on your dietary preferences. Honey pairs beautifully with chamomile’s floral notes, but feel free to swap it out if you're looking for a vegan or lower-sugar alternative. Start with a teaspoon and adjust to your taste.

Can I make a large batch of this latte?

You sure can, just multiply the ingredients based on how many servings you’d like. Steep the tea in a larger container, warm the milk in batches, and use a milk frother for each cup.

Does this latte have any caffeine?

Nope! Both chamomile and mint are naturally caffeine-free, making this latte a fantastic option if you’re trying to cut back or want something gentle in the evening.

What’s the best way to store leftover tea?

If you make more tea than you need, just let it cool and store it in the refrigerator in a sealed container for up to 3 days. You can reheat it gently on the stove or in the microwave before adding frothed milk. Don’t froth the milk in advance, fresh froth always gives the best texture.
